Best kept Village Award
Harlaston has regularly entered the Best Kept Village competition over the years in the Lichfield /Cannock Small Village Category competing for the trophy, sponsored by the Leavesley Group on behalf of the National Memorial Arboretum
” The competition is not about the prettiest village but deciding which village has involved its residents – individuals, local organisations, all age groups – and with a large slice of community spirit and involvement, has made it the Best Kept Village in its area, perhaps even in the whole of Staffordshire!” (www.staffs.org.uk)
The focus of the competition is community spirit, residents working together to maintain and improve the appearance, amenities and overall environment. The preliminary rounds are in May and June. The finals take place in July.
In 2015 the results for the Lichfield / Cannock Small Village Category were as follows:
1st – Edingale (Trophy Winner)
Harlaston was highly recommended
Highways and Pot Holes
Residents have reported dangerous pot holes and difficulties due to conditions of the roads in and around the village. The Parish Council would appreciate the support of local residents in reporting any issues they have noticed regarding pot holes and road maintenance. This can be done easily using the following link:
https://apps2.staffordshire.gov.uk/web/reportfault/#divSelectionHeader
Then Staffordshire County Council will come out and inspect the issues that have been reported and attempt to resolve them.
Many thanks for you support
